ABOUT US…

The department of ENT was established in 1972 and upgracled In 1983 as UG teaching department with 1 Professor and 2 assistant professors under the guidance of Dr C P Padmanabhan, Head of the department. The Department has spacious Outpatient section with facilities for teaching under graduates and for the examination and treatment of patients.
 

The department has 40 beds in the IP ward. At present the department is headed by Prof. Dr.K Ravi , associated by Dr. T V S S N Leela Prasad , assisted by 4 Asst . Profs,2 Senior residents, non-teaching staff such as 3 Audiologist, & staff nurse assist, MNO in the work. In 2023-24 for the first time Five Post graduates are Permitted under the guidance of Dr.K. Ravi, who is also acting as the present HOD of the department.
 

The department has 1 OPD, it is equiped with an endoscopy unit, 2 Suction Apparatus, examination Table, 1 OT Karl Storz endoscope unit, Tonsillectomy Set, 3 tympanoplasty set, 1 micromotor, 1 debrider, Rigid Bronchoscopy esophagoscopy, tracheostomy set, MLS Set, FESS Set, Septoplasty set, DCR set, Rhinoplasty set and other common equipment. In 2023 the department treated 39580 patients in OF 824 patients in IP and 583 in Emergency.
The department has Two units with 3 operation theatre days a week per unit. The department has undertaken 645 major operations and 311 minor operations in the year 2023 The department has Audiology Unit and is actively engaged in organising SADERAM in areas in Krishna District.
